The goal has been doubled and then some when it comes to the recent 100 Women fundraiser in support of the North Bay Food Bank.

The initiative focused on asking 100 women from the community to come forward and donate $100 in 100 hours.

Officials say 210 donations were made, totaling $21,000.

Funds raised will be used for mother care and children’s needs at the North Bay Food Bank.

‘We were overwhelmed when the donations kept adding up but also very privileged to be supported by the generous, women who came forward. Women from every part of our community, business leaders, educators, trades people, teenagers to grandmothers- all coming together to support the less fortunate in our city,’ said Board Chair Katharine Strang.

The women are now challenging the Men Who Care Social Club to pick up where they left off.
