Helping parents keep their kids safe when it comes to technology.

That’s the focus of a presentation tonight (Thursday) at St Thomas D’Aquin in Astorville.

Speaker Paul Davis will be providing a wealth of information packed into 90 minutes involving online safety, social media, digital trails and footprints, so-called sexting and more.

He says it’s vital for parents today, pointing out this not just a big city issue.

“In small communities, where there’s a lot less to do versus a big community their more bound to go home and hit that technology as soon as they get home, connect online and live on it,” he said.

Overall, Davis says he may talk a lot of tech, but at the end of the day it’s all about parenting.

“We want parents to walk out understanding what it’s going to take to keep our kid’s safe, what it’s going to take to build positive digital footprints and what its’ going to take to manage our online reputation,” he added.

The session is free and gets started at 6:30 pm.
