Despite a potential labour disruption starting this Friday at 12:01 am, the Children’s Aid Society District of Nipissing and Parry Sound says they will be responding to child protection concerns 24 hours a day.

CAS Executive Director Gisèle Hébert says the Agency’s contingency plan will minimize disruption to protection services.

She says their goal is to ensure the best possible service to children, youth and family under the circumstances All Youth Justice Services and Early Intervention Programs will be suspended.

96 per cent of the 120 CUPE Members who voted, rejected the final offer.

The union has said workload is the major issue.
