Santa Claus is likely going over his list one last time, while NORAD officials at 22 Wing CFB North Bay are prepping for the jolly elf’s journey across Canada tomorrow night (Christmas Eve).

Mission Crew Commander Captain Jim Mersereau says the elves have given a rough estimate of when Santa will cross into Canada.

“We’re watching to the east for when the unidentified object comes into Canadian airspace, then we proceed normally to identify and confirm that it is Santa Claus,” he said.

CF-18’s will then escort Santa across the country.

Captain Mersereau says on top of the website www.noradsanta.org there are a few ways kids can check up on Santa’s trip.

“They can use the Facebook page and track Santa, they can call 1-877-HI-NORAD or call us here locally in North Bay, (705)494-2011 extension 6400,” he added.

This is the 61st year of the NORAD Tracks Santa program.

There’s also games, videos and other activities and information on the website too.
