It’s Centennials alumni night as the North Bay Battalion host the Sudbury Wolves tonight (Thursday) at Memorial Gardens.

The Battalion will be wearing replica uniforms from the 1994 OHL title team and several prominent North Bay Centennials will be in attendance including Bill Lang, Bill Houlder, Ron Bertrand, Mike Gillies, Steve McLaren, Scott Wray, Brent Bywater, Robin Boucher, Mike Burman and Darren Turcotte.

Coach Stan Butler says the team is looking forward to the match-up.

He says there’s a great rivalry in sports between the two cities and little brother North Bay wants to show big brother Sudbury it can hold its own.

The Battalion will be a little understaffed on the blue line tonight as regulars Riley Bruce, Brady Lyle, Cam Dineen and Eric Allaire are all out of the lineup with injuries.

That leaves four regular defenseman available, so the Troops may have Daniel Walker play while Powassan Voodoo Dayton Murray is also expected to see action.

The Battalion are tied for the final playoff spot in the East with Niagara while the Wolves are tied for the Central division lead with Mississauga.

This is the 4th of 8 meetings between the teams with the Troops trailing 2-1 in the season series.

Broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT is 6:55 pm.
