A new employment pilot project is being launched in the Nipissing district next month.

It’s a joint effort by the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce and the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board.

It’s called the 100 Jobs Employment Services pilot. In a release, the Chamber and DSSAB say they have special funding that will create up to 100 jobs in the district.

The program is aimed at growing existing businesses by creating a talent pool of more than 500 ready-to-hire candidates.

The funding for eligible employers works out to $4,500 for each new hire from GetTrainedWorkers.com.

It has a database that matches employers with people looking for work.
