Before Monday night, the Powassan Voodoos hadn’t lost on home ice since September 25th.

Cochrane defeated the Voodoos 5-2 at the Powassan Sportsplex.

Brett Hahkala and Andy Baker scored for the home team.

Meantime, Powassan is down a spot in the CJHL Top 20.

The Voodoos are 5th in Canada this week.

Powassan is back in action Friday with a road game against French River.

 

Former Battalion defenceman Kyle Wood scored a couple of goals in the three ten minute games the Pacific Division played in the AHL All Star Classic Monday night.

In the final, the Central Division beat the Atlantic Division 1-0 in a shootout.

Wood, who plays for the Tucson Roadrunners, also won the hardest shot competition on the weekend, coming in at 99.3 mph.

 

The North Bay Antoine Ski Racers were in Sudbury this past weekend with three skiers topping the podium.

Lauren Moore, Tahlia Cornthwaite and Colin Dreany all won their races.

Three other team members had top 10 finishes.

Alex Park was 10th in his event, Amberly Auger was 9th in hers and Liam Waque was 7th in his event.

The team travels to Timmins next weekend for another event.
