The North Bay Battalion wrapped up their third game in three days with a 5-2 loss in the Soo on Sunday.

Brett Hargrave and Kyle Potts scored in the loss while Julian Sime faced 50 shots in the Battalion net.

North Bay is 9th in the Eastern Conference with 48 points, two back of both Ottawa and Niagara.

The Troops are home to Barrie on Thursday night.

 

The Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team has advanced to the next round of the OUA playoffs.

The Lakers won 2-1 over Laurentian yesterday to clinch the best of three series 2-1.

Jade Gauthier scored both Lakers goals while goalie Jackie Rochefort made 25 saves in the win.

Nipissing opens round two of the playoffs in Toronto against the Varsity Blues on Wednesday.

The Lakers will host game two on Friday and game three, if necessary, on Saturday.

 

The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers play the fifth and deciding game in their semifinal series with Kapuskasing tonight at Memorial Gardens.

Game time is 7:30 pm.

The winner advances to the finals.

In the NOJHL tonight, Powassan is home to Iroquois Falls.
