The North Bay AAA Trappers have advanced to the Great North Midget League Final.

In front of a crowd of about a thousand, the Trappers won 3-2 over Kapuskasing in the fifth and deciding game of their semifinal series last night (Monday) at Memorial Gardens.

Nick Davis, Matt Hardwick and Joe Whittet scored for North Bay.

The Trappers take on the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves for the championship.

Details haven’t been announced as yet, but games one and two will be in North Bay.

There’s no catching the Powassan Voodoos.

They clinched top spot in the NOJHL with a 5-2 win over Iroquois Falls on home ice last night.

Brett Hahkala scored a hat trick for Powassan with Dylan D’Agostino and Ryan Theriault adding singles.

The Voodoos have four games left in the regular season, all on the road, with a northern swing this weekend.

Powassan, meantime, is up a spot to 7th in latest CJHL Top 20 rankings.

Chippewa has won the NDA hockey title.

The Raiders scored a 3-2 win over Widdifield in game two of the best of three series yesterday.

Both teams are taking part in the NOSSA “A/AA” tournament next week in North Bay.
