A winter storm warning continues for the North Bay area.

Environment Canada says a cold surge of arctic is bringing snow, heavy at times, today with 15 cm possible by this evening.

Another 5 to 10 cm of snow is possible tonight.

Officials say some freezing rain is also likely when the rain changes to snow.

Strong winds will also cause blowing snow today too.

 

With the weather, school transportation officials advise that school buses right across the district are cancelled today (Wednesday March 1st, 2017)

Schools remain open.

Also of note, officials say the École publique Héritage boys volleyball tournament that was scheduled for today has been postponed.

It will now take place on Monday, March 6th.
