The North Bay AAA Trappers won game one of the Great North Midget League final 5-2 over the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves last night (Saturday).

Five different Trappers scored in the win.

Game two goes tonight at 6:30 pm at Memorial Gardens.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos defeated Iroquois Falls 7-3 last night.

It was a balanced attack for Powassan with seven different Voodoos scoring goals.

Powassan wraps up it’s weekend road trip with a game in Timmins this afternoon.

 

The North Bay Battalion are home to Hamilton this afternoon.

With 49 points, the 9th place Troops are one point back of Niagara and three behind Ottawa, who beat Kingston yesterday afternoon.

In OUA women’s hockey, Nipissing will find out this afternoon who they will face off against in the championship game next weekend.

The Guelph-Waterloo series is tied at a win apiece after the Warriors won 2-1 in game two yesterday.

If the Gryphons win game three today, Nipissing will travel to Guelph for the one-game, winner-take-all championship next Saturday.

A Waterloo win today means the Lakers would host the final against the Warriors next weekend.
