A big jump in job vacancies in Nipissing in January.

The Labour Market Group report says the 427 vacancies in the first month of the year was up 157 from December.

That’s also an increase of 47 job vacancies compared to January 2016.

Of the jobs that listed hours (337), 48 percent of them are full-time with 39 per cent part-time and just under 13 per cent being casual employment.

20 percent of the jobs are in the health care and social assistance industry.

That’s followed by Admin & Support, Waste Management & Remediation Services with over 18 per cent and Public Administration with 17 per cent.
