City fire crews put some new tools to the test yesterday (Thursday) freeing trapped motorists from their vehicles, after two collisions.

The first incident happened on McKeown Avenue with fire fighters using the new e-draulic extrication equipment on one of the two vehicles involved.

They used that equipment and new stabilization tools at a second crash on the bypass later on, to free another motorist.

Four vehicles were involved in that collision.

Officials say the new equipment allows crews to complete extrication much faster than before.
