A busy weekend for the North Bay OPP as they conducted two safety campaigns.

They were taking part in the Canada Road Safety campaign as well as provincial traffic safety programming targeting the big four of seatbelt use, inattentive driving, aggressive driving and impaired driving.

Police say there was a careless driving charge, 138 speeding counts, a street racing charge, 3 failing to yield counts, 7 distracted driving charges, four impaired driving charges, two counts of driving while prohibited and three seat belt violation counts.

Meantime, A 34 year old Mattawa male has been charged with driving while disqualified.

Mattawa OPP observed a vehicle while out on Highway 17 in Calvin Township on Sunday morning and stopped it.
