The Capitol Centre turns 30 years young this year and they’ve got quite the lineup.

Executive Director Dee Adrian says there’s a good variety of performances in the 2017-18 season with live music, comedy, spoken word and even a big time musical.

She says it’s important for the success of the Capitol Centre to offer something for everyone.

Adrian says the population base isn’t as big as Southern Ontario centres, but they still believe it’s important to have shows that people are attracted to check out.

Some of the musical performers include Barenaked Ladies, Graham Nash, Jann Arden and Tom Cochrane with Red Rider.

Some of the comedy shows are Roseanne Barr, the Just For Laughs Road Show and Mary Walsh and Cathy Jones.

Adrian says in November the musical extravaganza Passage to Bollywood will be here.

She says they will several other events with that Bollywood theme including films as they look to get people excited about Bollywood activity in the lead up to the Bollywood Musical.

The Hops and Vines Wine Gala will return this year and it will feature Alan Frew.

December will have a Christmas theme with a presentation of A Christmas Carol and Haleyfest.

January offers 3-2-1 Dance with solo, duet and trio works all in the same performance.

Adrian also says something new this year is deluxe platform seating.

She says for an extra $25 you’ll be sitting at a table and be able to order food and drink while you enjoy your show.

Tickets to all the shows will be on sale to the general public as of this Friday at the Capitol Centre Box Office.
