A 29 year old city man is facing dangerous driving and flight from police charges after an incident around 11 pm last night (Monday).

Police say a person was seen accelerating their vehicle and making sharp turns in the High Street and Lansdowne area.

Police attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued to drive a high rate of speed and went through stop signs in the residential area.

Police gave chase but discontinued the pursuit for safety reasons.

The accused was located and arrested a short time later.

In a separate incident, North Bay Police have charged a 21 year old city man after a robbery investigation this spring.

It’s alleged that on April 29th three men entered an apartment on Fourth Avenue East, assaulted two people and demanded everyone inside empty their pockets.

Two other men were charged in early May.
