No official attendance figures in yet for Mattawa Voyageur Days but officials are pleased with this years 20th annual event.

Co-chair Jacques Begin who will be stepping down as co chair in a couple of weeks says indications are between 2,500-3,000 people checked out the events in Mattawa and on the main stage at Explorers Point.

He says Voyageur Days has been great for the area’s economy.

Begin says local businesses say they have better sales than Christmas because of the festival.

He says the festival is an important cog in Mattawa’s economy.

Begin says they have a lot of out of town visitors every year at the event .

Begin says his best memory is to see the crowds every year whether it’s watching the performers on stage or in the community all weekend long.
