Accidental caused by smoking materials has been identified as the cause of a fire in North Bay early on Sunday morning.

North Bay Fire Chief Jason Whiteley says the home owner returned from walking her dogs around 5:41 am and saw the Metcalfe Street home was on fire.

He says she called from a neighbors and the fire department brought the blaze under control quickly but it already engulfed the 1st floor, had spread to the 2nd floor and extended into the attic.
