This week is Business Week and the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce have several events lined up.

Vice president of policy and communications Patti Carr says the week starts with a two day exporting seminar Monday and Tuesday at the Homewood Suites by Hilton North Bay.

“Anybody that’s seeking to see if they’re export ready, doing an assessment on their business, getting tips on how to get paid if they’re exporting, transportation and logistics will all be covered,” she says.

On Wednesday there will be a tech talk at the Grande Event Centre and a mini trade show at Titanium Transportation on Birch’s Road.

The feature event will be the annual awards at the Grande Event Centre on Thursday.

“I don’t think we tell our businesses enough that we really appreciate what they do for the economy and the community,” says Carr.

Among the awards being handed out are new business of the year, small business of the year for 1-5 employees, small business of the year for 6-15 employees, business of the year for over 16 employees , young professional of the year and the chamber’s director of the year honour.

There will also be a  a social media/Facebook workshop on Thursday in Mattawa and a trade show on Friday in Callander.
