It promises to be a special military appreciation game for the North Bay Battalion on Sunday.

The Troops players will be wearing special Canada 150 themed sweaters.

The jerseys will have a CF-18 jet insignia in the middle.

22 Wing Commander Col. Mark Roberts loves the look .

“This is the first time I’ve seen that design with the red and the white representing Canada and I salute the honourary colonels that took this initiative and made it their own and came up with this design.”
The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game with the funds raised supporting the Military Family Resource Centre.

Battalion captain Riley Bruce says it’ll be an honour to wear the jerseys.

“I think they definitely turned out pretty awesome. They look really sharp and it took a year to get permission to put the CF-18 on the front and the team is excited to wear the jerseys on Sunday.”

Hon.Col.Tom Hedican says it took a lot of work to make this happen.

“You have to jump through some hoops and I’m glad it all worked out. The jerseys are so fantastic, the players are so excited to wear them and I thnk the fans are going to just love them.”

Col. Roberts says there’s a lot of support for the Battalion in the military here.

“To have an OHL team in the city here is something the troops love and to have them support us in this way it means a great deal.”
The Troops will play Niagara at 2 pm.
