A fifth straight loss for the North Bay Battalion heading into the weekend.

The Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds scored late in the third and midway through overtime to win 5-4 Thursday night at Memorial Gardens.

Head Coach Stan Butler says it was encouraging to keep pace with the fourth ranked team in the CHL and they only have one more game now against the Soo this season.

Butler also says their veteran players need to step up in a bigger way.

“It’s no secret we need our guys that we consider our top scorers, to score.  There’s no doubt we need to find a way to generate more five on five goals.  We did get a couple tonight (Thursday), which is encouraging,” he says.

The Battalion are back in action tonight vs Niagara, broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT is 6:55 pm.
