The first major winter storm of the season is on Environment Canada’s radar… with a winter storm watch in effect for the North Bay area.

The agency says 15 to 30 cm of snow is possible with the storm moving in late Saturday into Sunday morning.

The heaviest amounts are likely closer to the Quebec border.

There is also a risk of freezing rain in some areas.

Environment Canada says there is still considerable uncertainty regarding snowfall amounts as the track of the low pressure system is still not certain.
