Fame Jr is on stage at St Joseph-Scollard Hall this week.

Bears Theatre is presenting the musical tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday at 7:30 pm in the Bishop Carter Auditorium.

Drama teacher and director Jeff Graham says the students have been rehearsing and learning the steps since September.

“I decided to do the show because I have quite a versatile group and a lot of them are in grade 12 and they’re leaving this year so it’s a good last ‘hurrah’ for them. There’s about 27 of them on stage and there’s a back stage crew as well,” he says.

The production takes after the 80’s movie and TV show and tells the story of students going to an elite performing arts school filled with dance and music.

“A lot of technical action, a lot of dance, there’s a very big set on stage and there’s just a lot of activity going on that’s a lot of fun for all ages,” Graham says.

Tickets are $5 for students and children and $10 for adults.

They’re available at the door or the school office.
