Christian Propp made 28 saves to pick up his first win with the Troops, as the North Bay Battalion held on to beat the Mississauga Steelheads 4-3 last night at Memorial Gardens.

Head Coach Stan Butler says his goaltender made the difference for a big home-ice win.

“I think he’s confident,” Butler says. “Adam Dennis probably looking at a lot of the ’99 goaltenders after Mike DiPietro, he thought he was the second best ’99 goalie in the league. To pick up a guy like him that we’re going to have for this year and next year as well, is huge for our hockey team.”

The Battalion erased a 2-0 deficit in the game and went up 4-2 in the third, before Mississauga made it 4-3.

Justin Brazeau scored twice, including his 20th goal of the season in the victory.

Andy Baker and Cam Dineen also found the back of the net the Troops, who are right back at it tonight on the road against the Soo Greyhounds.

Broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT is 7 o’clock.
