Nipissing Environmental Watch has some suggestions for city council.

Spokesperson Peggy Walsh Craig says there are three priorities they would like to see the city address in it’s 2018 green agenda.

“More walk-ability, better storm water management meaning that the rain that falls on our pavement and roofs can be managed better,” she says.

They also want the city to integrate an environmental perspective in all of it’s departments.

Walsh Craig gives the city good grades for its stance on the Energy East Pipeline proposal.

“We are especially appreciative of the mayor and council’s strong stand on the conversion of the Energy East Pipeline. They went a long way in helping to protect the safe drinking water,” she says.

Walsh Craig says they are seeing more bus shelters and sidewalks and that’s a good thing, but more needs to be done.
