Tyler Nicholson’s Olympic dream turns into a reality today (Friday) as the North Bay Snowboarder competes in Men’s Slopestyle tonight at the games in Pyeongchang.

The qualifying heats start at 8 pm.

His Mom Rosemary told us earlier this week Tyler is fulfilling a dream by competing in South Korea.

“It’s something that he’s been really working towards for 15 years and he’s only 22. Since he was 7 he has always had it in his mind he wanted to be the best he can be and go as far as he could,” she says.

Rosemary told us Tyler’s motto has always been shoot for the moon and if you fall short you’ll land among the stars.

“That has a big message to him. It means do the best you can and compete against yourself. Yes there are other competitors but he wants to do his personal best at the Olympics,” she says.

The top six from each heat tonight advance to tomorrow night’s medal round.

Nicholson is also entered in the Big Air competition later in the games.
