A scam involving people purporting to be musican Brett Kissel has reached North Bay.

One local fan, who’s excited for next week’s concert at the Capitol Centre, says she got an invite on Instagram from someone saying they were Kissel.

She says a conversation started up which evolved into the scam artist asking for money and banking information.

Last September, Kissel took to social media to warn his fans about this.

“I have been getting in-undated from people on Instagram and Twitter and Facebook saying that there are fake Brett Kissel accounts out there,” he says in the video post. “Any of those ‘snakes’, that are asking you for money, report these guys, I hate them, I don’t know who they are but I hate them.”
