A nail-biting win for the North Bay Battalion as they beat Oshawa 3-2 Thursday night at Memorial Gardens.

The Troops top line of Justin Brazeau, Matthew Struthers, and Luke Burghardt had two points each.

But, it was league veteran Jake Henderson who scored the game winner.

Head coach Stan Butler is quick to sing his praises.

“He’s given us everything and more than we can ask of him, he’s a great addition and we’re just very, very lucky that Kitchener needed a goalie and they could deliver him to us,” Butler says.

The Battalion are alone in fifth in the OHL Eastern Conference standings with 58 points.

While they’re now two points clear of idle Ottawa, Head Coach Stan Butler says they still have some tough match-ups coming up with games against Mississauga on Sunday and then the Generals again on Monday.

“It’s really important for us to have a really good run in these next couple of games,” he says.
