$780,000 is going towards the long-term sustainability of northern Ontario’s Forestry Sector.

MP Anthony Rota MP Anthony Rota announced the funding, which will enable FPInnovations to implement its Ontario Forest Sector Road Map (OFSRM) initiative.

The three-year program will connect businesses with research programs and help businesses innovate and adopt new technologies to maximize economic opportunities in Northern Ontario.

“Today’s announcement will help accelerate growth and support the long-term sustainability of Northern Ontario’s forestry sector,” says Rota. “By investing in innovation and clean-tech, our government is helping to reduce Canada’s environmental footprint and achieving meaningful results for the people, businesses and communities here at home in Nipissing-Timiskaming and across the region.”

The announcement took place at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park.
