A busload of local supporters of the Time To Care Act are heading to Queen’s Park today (Tuesday) to meet up with supporters from around the province.

Bill 33 calls for a minimum standard of four hours of daily, hands-on care for seniors in long-term care homes.

North Bay and District Labour Council President Henri Giroux says MPP’s have passed the bill at second record, but it hasn’t reached the finish line yet.

“Every day without a legislated, minimum daily care standard, is another day many residents will spend long hours alone and wait for basic needs to be met. We won’t stop until this is law. We must make Time to Care the law in Ontario. We can all support the Time to Care Bill 33 by contacting your local MPP”,
says Giroux.

The local group heading to Toronto tomorrow includes people representing six Long Term Care Homes, Seniors, Labour Allies and families who have loved ones living in long term care.
