It’s inevitable… Spring is coming, just not all at once.

Brad Rousseau is a meteorologist with The Weather Network.

He says temperatures will be below seasonal for the first two weeks of March.

“But as you get to the latter half of March and the rest of spring temperatures should remain around seasonal value maybe even trend just a hair above,” he says.

They will be tracking a storm system bringing in higher than normal precipitation amounts and a few more bouts of snow. before it feels like spring.

But, he says spring will gradually arrive.

“Transitional seasons like the fall and spring tend to be a little more active than the core of winter and summer months because we see that clash of air masses, that colder arctic air to the north and the warmer air to the south,” Rousseau adds.

He says on average we can expect 35 centimetres of snow in March and another 17 in April.
