There’s a new Director of Tourism at Tourism North Bay.

Steve Dreany has over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry and is a past president of the Chamber and Rotary Club of Nipissing.

He says the priority is attracting visitors to the area.

“What we want to do is continue to work cooperatively with the operators in town to attract as much business as we can, because of the importance of tourism being new dollars into the economy and helping the economy to expand and grow,” he says.

Dreany also says the area has plenty to offer, they just have to get the message out.

“We’ve got a lot of quality branded product, we’ve got great food and beverage, we have a welcoming community, it’s just a matter of getting out there and bringing people in,” he says.

One of the big priorities right now is the 2018 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship, which he says will certainly help them get the word on on what the region has to offer.

Dreany takes over the role from Stephen Hollingshead, who retired last week.
