Local residents will start to receive their War Amps key tags in the mail this week.

That’s the word from Public Awareness Officer Jamie Lunn who says they’re celebrating their 100th anniversary.

“The War Amps assists amputees across Canada with the help of artificial limbs and emotional assistance, but we also provide a free service to Canadians, we provide a lost-key return service,” she says.

Lunn says simply attach the key tags to your keys.

“If you ever lose them the person who finds them can drop them into any Canada Post mailbox or they can call the 1-800 number on the back and those keys can be returned to you,” she says.

Lunn reiterates it’s a free service.

But, she also says if people find value in that service, they often choose to donate to War Amps, which is how they’re able to fund all of their programs for amputees across Canada.
