The final rocks of the 2018 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship will make their way down the pebbled ice at Memorial Gardens today (Sunday).

Canada’s Jennifer Jones’ rink takes on Sweden’s Anna Hasselborg in the gold medal game at 3 pm at Memorial Gardens.

Canada advanced with a 9-7 win over the U.S. in Saturday night’s semifinal.

Sweden booked their ticket to the final earlier in the day with a 7-6 win over Russia.

The bronze medal game between the U.S. and Russia goes at 10 am.

Curling Canada Communications and Media Relations Director Al Cameron says North Bay has been a great host city.

“Everything that we’ve seen is that they’ve met all of what they promised and exceeded in many ways.  I think that’s the memory that you take away from it.  You have had a great host committee that has really stepped up, a great business community that has stepped up and curling fans who have stepped up,” he said earlier in the week.

Cameron said there has been an impressive buzz at Memorial Gardens from all the fans supporting the event.
