North Bay Hydro customers will be paying about two per cent more a month, starting today (Tuesday, May 1st).

Back in March, the Ontario Energy Board approved the rate increase.

In their decision, the OEB says there will be a monthly bill increase of $2.25 for a residential customer using 750 kWh of power.

Also today, the summer rate scheme for Time-Of-Use prices takes effect.

The OEB says they are virtually the same.

On-peak, when demand is the highest, is now 11 am to 5 pm.

Off-peak remains 7 pm to 7 am while mid-peak is now 7 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 7 pm.
