MP Anthony Rota announced $230,000 in Fednor funding on Friday at Canadore College.

The funding will enable Innovation Initiatives Ontario North or IION to deliver skills training in advanced manufacturing.

Rota says this is pilot project that will create jobs.

“The projected outcome is 20 full time jobs in the area as well as 12 companies being helped out so they can compete at an international level. This will put North Bay on the map,” Rota says.
The pilot project is called icSTAMP which stands for II0N-Canadore-Skills Training in Advanced Manufacturing and Production.
Those hired under the initiative will receive 6 month paid placements and get on the job experience using the latest technology in advanced manufacturing work.

Also on Friday, Fednor announced over $500,000 in funding for Economic Partners- Sudbury East-West Nipissing.

The funds will support area businesses take part in the Northern Ontario Agri Food Pavillion at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
