Hundreds of Nipissing University students are getting ready to put their shine on things tomorrow (Saturday).

Their annual Shinerama fundraiser is taking place at several locations around the city and in Powassan and Sturgeon Falls too.

NUSU Vice President Communications Xander Winter says they’re raising awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

“We’ll be doing car washes, carrying groceries, we have a barbecue outside in the Sobey’s parking lot, we’ll be all around the city raising money,” he says.

“It’s the largest genetic disease in Canada, Cystic Fibrosis, and it’s something that a lot of people still don’t know about. We want to make sure we get awareness out about Cystic Fibrosis out and help raise money to finally make CF stand for ‘Cure Found’,” Winter says.

Over the past 21 years, Nipissing students have helped raise $322,000.

This year’s goal is $15,000.
