Recovery Day events are being held in North Bay Saturday.

Friday’s events have been cancelled.

Committee chair Wendy Prieur says there are a few goals with the third annual event.

“To build awareness around recovery of the disease of addiction, to challenge societal stigma and to celebrate the role that recovery plays in improving the lives of individuals, families and their communities,” she says.

Prieur says they’re looking to highlight those who have found the solution.

“For people who are struggling that is just a great thing to hear that there is hope. I think that’s our biggest message of all, is that no matter where you are in your journey of recovery, there is always hope,” Prieur says.

North Bay is one of 30 cities across Canada taking part

Saturday’s events  includes speaker panels, motivational speaker, yoga, zumba, lighting up City Hall in blue, green and silver and a street dance back at the waterfront.
