Calling them a roadblock, mayoral candidate Sheldon Forgette says parking meters in Downtown North Bay should be decommissioned.

In a release, Forgette says people are shopping more online and less locally, so it’s time to re-think meters.

Pointing to the costs involved in maintaining parking meters, he says it’s almost a pointless tax.

Forgette wants to drive support to the downtown, saying it shouldn’t cost anything to park there.
