Police remind people to safely store their firearms

City police are reminding gun owners about proper storage of their firearms.

They says Ontario has seen an increase in break-and-enter incidents where firearms are stolen or targeted.

They also say proper storage extends outside of the home too, while transporting firearms during hunting season.

Police say they searched a Lakeshore Drive residence late yesterday afternoon in relation to an investigation into illegal possession of a firearm.

No charges were filed, but the investigation continues.
