North Bay Police are investigating two reports from residents who have found what appears to be metal pins inserted into chocolate bars, with a small portion sticking out of the Halloween candy.

Police are reminding parents to inspect their children’s candy and say if it looks unusual, has a tear or is discoloured be safe and dispose of it.

They say in both instances, the chocolate came from the core area of the city.

Posts on social media are warning people of sewing needles being found in chocolate in the Ferguson area.

Meantime, West Nipissing Police confirm to BayToday (story here) that officers there are investigating a report of someone putting what appears to be medical pills into children’s Halloween bags.
