A 32 year old North Bay man is facing eleven drug and weapons charges after the Canadian border officials in Toronto intercepted two packages marked for delivery to a city residence.

North Bay Police say the packages contained prohibited weapons.

After a search of a home several items were seized including switch blades, tasers, a butterfly knife, brass knuckles, a purple fentanyl and heroin mixture, crystal meth and $17,000 in Canadian currency.

Police say the total value of the drugs is estimated at over $100,000.

In a release, police say fentanyl is an extremely dangerous drug even in small amounts.

They say 114 grams of fentanyl, depending on its purity, represents enough powdered fentanyl to cause over 55,000 lethal overdoses.
