The North Bay Battalion found themselves down 5-4 going into the third period last night against Kitchener, but a four goal outburst in the final 20 minutes turned things around for the Troops.

It led to an 8-5 win, snapping a seven game losing streak.

Assistant Coach Adam Dennis said it’s been a trend for the Troops to have to play comeback.

“The last month for us, there’s been a lot of coming from behind, so to say that we’re used to it is a bit of an understatement. But it was nice to see us keep pushing and hold on to a lead in the third,” he says.

Justin Brazeau (pictured), Brad Chenier and Daniel Walker all chipped in with two goals each, while Adam McMaster and Matthew Struthers also found the back of the net.

Dennis says the team was happy to get back in to the win column.

“I think it was a credit to our group to continue to push throughout, continue to battle regardless of the score and we’re happy to get this result,” he says.

North Bay is back in action on Saturday when they visit the Barrie Colts, then wraps up the pre-Christmas break with a home game against the Colts on Sunday.

That game sees a holiday tradition return for the Battalion… it’s the Troops sixth annual Teddy Bear Toss game.

Fans are encouraged to bring along a NEW Teddy Bear and when the Battalion score their first goal, throw your bear onto the ice at Memorial Gardens.

Clear plastic bags will be available at the game.

Bears will then be donated to local charitable organizations in time for Christmas.
