A report on a new arena to replace West Ferris Arena is coming to council tonight (Tuesday).

The draft recommendation involves a new double ice pad Community Centre on city-owned land at 1105 Lakeshore Drive, the same location as the Omischl Sports Complex.

Another report calls on council to direct staff to move forward with a phased approach to setting up the ‘Family of Rotary Splash Pad’ project.

Phase one would see the splash pad constructed this year.

There’s also three councillor motions on the agenda, involving casino proceeds, species at risk and provincially significant wetlands.

Budget timelines and a rezoning request for a property on Beattie Street are up for discussion in the Committee meeting.

The committee meeting goes at 6:30 pm, followed by the regular meeting at 7:30 pm.
