The only game for the North Bay Battalion this week is at home tonight versus Flint.

The Battalion enter the game in a three-way tie for 6th in the East with Peterborough and Hamilton.

The Firebirds are last in the west with just 9 wins.

Assistant coach Adam Dennis says the Troops, who have lost their last three games including one in overtime, can’t overlook anyone at this point in the season.

“They’re probably better than their record. We have to make sure we respect our opponent. We have to come out and play a real hard game. There’s a lot of playoff implications for us and it’s going to be one of the biggest games of the year for us,” Dennis says.

The Troops have gone from a seven game losing streak to ten straight without a loss in regulation to their current run of seven losses in nine games.

Dennis says starts have been an issue for the team.

“Our team has been streaky all season. We’ve had good stretches and poor stretches. We have gone back to those games and focus on what went well and hammer home those points to our guys,” he says.

The Troops beat Flint earlier in the season in Michigan.

Broadcast time tonight on Country 600 is 6:55 pm.

Also tonight, mental health awareness will be highlighted at the game at Memorial Gardens.

There will be a Canadian Mental Health Association kiosk showcasing community-based services available at the Nipissing regional branch.

As well, public service announcements will be played at the game and there will be videos featuring Battalion players talking about the importance of speaking openly about mental health issues.
