OPP are looking for witnesses to a collision last night (Monday) on Highway 17 West, near the Main West turnoff.

A vehicle struck a pedestrian at about 8:45 pm.

Police say a 33 year old woman from Nipissing First Nation suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

They say the vehicle left the scene and was stopped a short time later.

A 17 year old girl from West Nipissing has been charge with failing to stop at an accident.

The roadway was closed until about 1:30 this morning.

The OPP is looking for anyone who was travelling on Highway 17 between Gormanville Road and Highway 17B between 8:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. who may have observed pedestrians or the collision.
