The North Bay Battalion are looking to even up their OHL playoff series against Niagara at two wins apiece.

The IceDogs have a 2-1 series lead, with game four tonight at Memorial Gardens.

Assistant coach Adam Dennis says they need to put up more shots and pressure on Ice Dogs goalie Stephen Dhillon.

“Outside of Justin Brazeau there’s not going to be too many highlight goals that we plan to score. It has to be the ‘meat and potato’ type goals which means put pucks on net, drive the net hard and hope for some good bounces and rebounds,” he says.

Brazeau says the Battalion have to be more aggressive in the Niagara zone and repeat what they did in the 5-2 win in game two.

“We did a lot better job of getting everything to the net, putting more bodies there and making life more difficult for Dhillon. The two games we’ve been shutout we haven’t done that as well, Going forward, we have to get back to that,” The Troops Captain says.

The Battalion have been outshot 148-70 in the series and outscored 10-5.

Dennis says the Troops have to ready at puck drop.

“They’re a good starting team. We have to match and exceed their intensity especially on home ice. We expect our crowd to be behind us and that’s important and we need to use that energy and translate it to a good start for our group,” he says.

Broadcast time tonight from Memorial Gardens is 6:55 pm on Country 600 CKAT.

We know who will be playing in the NOJHL East Final, but we don’t know the schedule yet.

The Powassan Voodoos will play Hearst after the Lumberjacks defeated Timmins 3-2 in game seven of their playoff series last night.

As the top seed, Hearst will have home ice advantage.
