The province is recognizing the selfless efforts of 98 local volunteers tonight (Mon).

An Ontario Volunteer Service Awards ceremony is taking place at the Best Western, with the province recognizing the positive impact these local residents have on the community.

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says volunteers are a vital part of our social fabric.

“Volunteers touch our lives in so many ways – whether it’s providing comfort to the sick, companionship for older Ontarians or coaching children and youth sports, they make our province one of the greatest places to live,” said Fedeli.

The awards recognize people for continuous years of volunteer service at organizations like hospitals, seniors’ centres and community associations.

Ontario is proud to recognize their efforts with the Ontario Volunteer Service Award and encourages all residents to give back to their communities.
