Police services in Nipissing are receiving provincial funding for RIDE checks throughout the year.

MPP Vic Fedeli announced just over $42,000 for area police services.

The money will be used to help detect impaired drivers and keep local streets and highways safe.

“With this funding, our local police services will be able to conduct regular roadside spot-checks and education campaigns needed to detect impaired drivers and keep our roads safe,” said Fedeli. “It will help pay for cover sworn officers’ overtime and paid duty RIDE activities, and that’s really important.”
