Earlier this week, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit was reminding residents that physical distancing is still needed over Easter.

They’re asking people to keep Easter activities, egg hunts and family meals to just those people living in your home.

The Health Unit is also highlighting a provincial recommendation that residents stay home except for essential reasons.

Officials say the recommendations are being made to keep you, your loved ones and others healthy.

Essential reasons include:
– Access health care services;
– Shop for groceries;
– Pick-up medication at the pharmacy;
– Walk pets when required; and
– Support vulnerable community members with meeting the above needs.

They also say LIMIT the number of essential trips, PHYSICALLY DISTANCE yourself when in public by two meters and SELF-ISOLATE if you are elderly or have underlying health conditions.

As for federal restrictions, officials point out everyone entering Canada MUST isolate for 14 days whether or not you have symptoms and MUST STAY INSIDE their home and not leave unless it is to seek medical attention.
